First shot at injection molding

 

This past week, the Back Baes got started with manufacturing parts for our final yoyo design! After finishing the molds for our rim part, we were able to start injection molding a few rims and the results were similar to the picture shown here. Unfortunately, we encountered a lot of technical difficulties and a whole lot of flash in our parts, so we still have some work to do manufacturing our parts. We have been very mindful about keeping note of parameters on the BOY and injector pin lengths. This will help us be more efficient when we are injection molding in the future, both for future iterations of this part and other parts.
